Only July 22, 2007, twenty-one intrepid Rotarians, Doctors, students, Nurse Practitioners, engineers, and others
visited Nicaragua. For four days they offered medical clinics to people in Managua, Rancho Grande, Cerro
Verde and Matagalpa. They reached about 1500 people, mostly children, in that time. Here in Managua the patients
are sorted into groups to talk to the Nurse Practitioners or Doctors.

Most of the people treated in Managua came from the dump. Here are the people getting
on the bus near there.

Each doctor and nurse had a translator to help them communicate.

The Pharmacy...now where are those pills? Rotary thanks everyone for the contributions. |

In addition to the clinics, each of
the places had feeding centers for protein.

Both the Parkersburg Club and the Wood County Club have been going to Nicaragua for 4 years. Each year we have learned more about
the needs of the country. This year we started a design study for a water project in Rancho Grande. To help them in the meantime
we left some chlorination equipment and made contact with the Peace Corp to monitor its use. The main idea for the water project
is to prevent some of diseases that result from a poor water system. This was one week in July that these folks made a difference
that will affect them the rest of their lives. Trip in 2005.
