Sue Patalano, Wood County Arc, introduced Inetta Fluharty, Assistant Director of the Northern WV Center for Independent Living. Inetta set the stage for the "race". First there was the "putting on of sock" without touching your feet. Then there was the obstacle course to simulate door jams that are too high, gravel driveways, beach sand, and finally plush carpet. These all had to be negotiated before the Olympians could pick up their "begging tubs!"

To the right: Inetta explains to Paul how to put his socks on...

The efforts of Paul Ferrell and Priscilla Leavitt netted the Wheelchair Foundation $1,528 or an equivalent when matched by the Rotary Foundation 23 wheelchairs! Each chair costs approximately $150 and our chairs will join others going to places in need by the containerload.

Thanks to everyone in the club for making this both a fun meeting and one that makes a difference as well.
